Image Compressor

Make an image lighter before it goes into a newsletter, product page, or portfolio. Choose a sensible export format, adjust quality where supported, and compare the resulting file with your original. The smallest file is only useful if the important details still look right.

How to use Image Compressor

  1. Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP image from your device.
  2. Select an output format and adjust the available quality or size controls.
  3. Generate a preview, inspect small details, then download the version you prefer.

A newsletter hero

A camera photo is much wider than your email layout. Reduce its dimensions first, try a JPEG or WebP export, and inspect faces and text before sharing. Keep the full-resolution original for future edits.

Size and quality solve different problems

Dimensions describe the pixel grid. File size describes the bytes needed to store it. Lowering either can make delivery lighter, but they do not produce the same result. Start with the dimensions you need, then adjust compression.

Compare, do not assume

An already optimized image may become larger after re-encoding. PNG may preserve sharp edges better than a low-quality JPEG, while a photograph may benefit from a different format. Keep the original when the new version offers no useful improvement.

Good to know

Does this upload my image?

The tool processes the selected image in your browser. The image file is not sent to our server. Loading the website still makes normal network requests.

Will it make a blurry photo sharp?

No. Compression and resizing cannot restore missing detail. Avoid repeatedly compressing an already compressed export.
